Ricardo Falcón was a promising young leader who organized students and community members during the Chicano/a movement. He was a popular activist in Colorado committed to social justice. In August of 1972, he was murdered in Orogrande, New Mexico while traveling to a meeting held in El Paso, Texas. Falcón was shot and killed by a right-wing vigilante named Perry Brunson, who was acquitted by an all white jury.

I don’t know if you live in Colorado and even if not. I was there for the march…..were you?? I made it a point to go. Saturday was one of the most important days of our lives. It actually recharged me and I’m ready to finish what has been started. I was born and raised in Fort Lupton, CO Home of the Falcon family where we all knew each other in that small community.
While this comment may be well intended, it is an example of question we (as part of basic security culture) do not feel obliged to answer. Needless to say, we look up to the work of Ricardo Falcón and support the work of his sucessive comrades.
