The hammer and sickle are common Marxist symbols representing the working class and peasants, respectively. The world’s oppressed majority are largely peasants. The sickle is a tool used for harvesting, it is a powerful symbol of agricultural production. Here this tool is transformed into a weapon against imperialism. Only the denizens of the global countryside can defeat the fierce talons of the global city. The world’s oppressed majority must rise up and decapitate imperialism. Death to amerikkka! Victory to the oppressed!
